New Patients
Your First Visit
The first stop during your initial visit will be with one of our treatment coordinators. They will review your dental and medical history, this is an important step for us to get to know you and your needs. Next you will meet with one of our talented hygienists; they will take any records that are needed including x-rays, photographs, and a 3D oral health scan.
While with your hygienist, you will be introduced to your doctor and receive a comprehensive oral exam. Your doctor will then come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan and when you return for your cleaning the doctor will consult with you regarding their findings and your goals.

3D Oral Health Scans
At Ottawa Heritage Dental, we believe that technology is one of the main pillars to keeping the patient experience the best it can be. One of the newest additions to our office is the iTero digital scanner which allows us to perform a 3D Oral Health Scan of your teeth and gums in just minutes.
The iTero has completely replaced the need for goopy impressions that make people gag. Through regular oral health scans, the iTero also allows us to easily track changes to the teeth and gums to diagnose issues like recession and tooth wear. We can then work with you to develop a strategy to correct them.

Covid-19 Safe
Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. You can be assured our practice follows all recommended guidelines from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. All of our treatment rooms are fully enclosed and have Surgically Clean Air Purifiers that decontaminate the air every 10 minutes, so you can breathe easy knowing the air is clean and healthy.
Our clinical staff wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, including N95 masks, face shields, and surgical gowns. The treatment rooms are thoroughly disinfected after each patient. Plexiglass barriers are installed in our administrative areas and common areas like our washroom facilities, door handles, chairs, and counters are disinfected on a frequent basis. We continue to screen our employees each day, and patients are screened upon arrival for their appointment to ensure everyone’s safety.
