Full-Service Dental Care

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a treatment that is ever-growing in popularity due to how comfortable and efficient it is. It can be used to treat people from the age of six all the way to 70+. Invisalign consists of a series of clear removable aligners. The aligners are completely customized to fit you perfectly at every stage of your treatment. Results are highly predictable and we have options for both regular Invisalign and accelerated Invisalign treatment using the Aevo system.

Dental Implants

If you have one or more missing teeth, dental implants are a great way to restore your teeth to their natural look and function. Implants are small titanium “roots” that are placed in the jaw. Once the implant is placed, a crown is placed on top of the implant to replace a missing tooth. If you are missing multiple teeth, two or more implants can be placed to securely hold a denture.

Teeth Whitening

Whitening can brighten your teeth by several shades, making them much whiter. We offer two options: custom at-home whitening trays and in-office whitening. Custom trays give the patient the highest level of control in regards to the level of brightness that is achieved. A digital 3D scan of your teeth is taken and your trays are fabricated using the scan. After receiving the custom fit trays, the whitening can be done at home. In-office whitening leaves the work to the professionals and allows you to relax while your teeth are whitened, this process is completed in our office in approximately one hour. Ask about your whitening solutions at your next appointment!

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD)

Headaches, migraines, neck pain, shoulder pain, teeth clenching, sore jaw muscles are all symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder or TMD. All of these issues could be caused by a bad bite that causes the muscles to become overworked, tender, and even sore to the touch. We can help diagnose and treat TMJ pain. It starts by asking some of the following questions:
  1. Do you feel like your lower jaw is being pushed back when you try to bite your back teeth together?
  2. Do you have trouble finding your bite, or need to squeeze, tap your teeth together, or shift your jaw to make your teeth fit together?
  3. Do you clench or grind your teeth together in the daytime or make them sore?
  4. Do you have any problems with sleep (i.e. restlessness or teeth grinding), wake up with a headache, or an awareness of your teeth?

  5. If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be suffering from TMD. Call us to make an appointment to discuss these issues!

Sedation Dentistry

We understand that for some patients, dental procedures can be a scary experience and the comfort of all of our patients is important to us. For this reason, we offer different levels of sedation ranging from minimal sedation using nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to oral sedation to IV sedation (you will be asleep) with our dental anesthesiologist Dr. Gizzarelli. Dr. Gizzarelli has been providing IV sedation at Ottawa Heritage Dental for over two decades. During IV sedation, you are completely asleep while we perform the necessary procedure(s) ranging from fillings to wisdom teeth removal.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

While removal of wisdom teeth has a bad reputation as being painful and complicated, there is nothing to worry about. Our doctors will make the procedure and recovery as comfortable as possible for you. We even offer IV sedation from our anesthesiologist so you will be completely asleep while we remove your wisdom teeth.

Restorative Care: Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and Bridges are part of what we call major restorative care. Crowns are used to restore the look and function of a tooth that is decayed or broken but not missing completely. A crown covers the entire visible part of the tooth and becomes the tooth’s new outer surface. Popular crown materials include porcelain, ceramic, gold alloy, or a combination of the previous materials. When teeth are completely missing, bridges are an option to replace them. Bridges can be fixed or removable and use an artificial tooth anchored to 2 or more healthy teeth next to the space.

Gum Grafting

Gum grafting is a procedure that is used to reverse the effects of gum recession. It can also be used for cosmetic purposes. Gum recession often goes unnoticed until the tooth’s root becomes exposed, which can cause sensitivity to hot and cold foods, affect the attractiveness of your smile, or cause further gum issues.

Preventative Care

The best way to avoid serious issues related to your oral health is through frequent preventative care. Preventative care includes brushing and flossing daily, regular professional cleanings and check-ups to detect any problems early. If you need help with your brushing and flossing technique, one of our hygienists will be happy to provide some tips. Are you due for a cleaning and checkup?
